photo It is my pleasure to welcome you to Fordham Law. I invite you to learn about the many accomplishments of the Law School community through this website. You will also find information about the School's groundbreaking centers and institutes, our distinguished faculty, and Fordham Law's distinct approach of teaching law to the next leaders in the legal profession.

This approach balances rigorous academic coursework with enriching real-world practice. It stresses the importance of ethics and the community-building power of public service. We call our model of teaching a complete legal education, and we have been perfecting it for more than 100 years.

Our compelling vision of legal education has not gone unnoticed. Fordham Law is the 20th most selective law school in the country based on LSAT scores of our most recent entering class. We are one of only six schools to have multiple top 20 programs in each of the three broad areas of legal education: critical substantive areas, basic practical skills areas, and theory. The other five schools are Harvard, Columbia, Georgetown, Michigan, and Northwestern.

Our outstanding student journals are some of the most cited in the legal profession: the Fordham Law Review is the 7th most cited student-edited journal in court cases, and the Fordham Urban Law Journal is the 4th most cited specialty journal in other law journals. Our students are not only superb legal writers but also successful competitors: the Moot Court Program last year was ranked #8 in the nation, our Brendan Moore Trial Advocates won two national championships in one year, and our Dispute Resolution Society regularly places in national competition, leading the Dispute Resolution Program to be ranked #8 in the country.

After they graduate, our talented students become accomplished lawyers: Fordham has more lawyers at the nation's 25 most successful law firms than all but six schools. Our devoted alumni are some of the nation's finest judges, public servants, academics, business leaders, and practicing lawyers.

These rankings and figures don't tell the whole Fordham Law story. The people of Fordham Law—the students, the staff, the professors, the alumni, the friends—form the true narrative. Fordham Law School is a community unique in American legal education. After you have checked out our website, I hope you will come by and visit us here on campus. Meet the individuals who make Fordham Law such a special place. Join the community.
